Here as well, we have voluntary fire departments in which applicants go through training. I know two guys in my high school, a junior and senior, that are 'firemen' I think technically they are trainees but whatever, they go to the fire and stop the fire, so they're firemen. And I seriously doubt that firemen in California have to go through 8 years of college and graduate level courses.

he's talking about canada. it's really complicated though.

Water + Fire = Extinguished

Fire + Building = Burn

Burn + Building = Dangerous

those are a few of the equations you needed to remember to pass the test.

here in quebec you need to do a 3 years college degree + a 1 year proffessional formation degree (DEP) to be full time in big cities. the proffessional training is really really hard... they take around 90 people out of 600 applications.

Would you like to compare Canuck schools against US schools Matt? Yale, Harvard, MIT, etc...The day the Canucks put out as much brain power as the US, is the day that you guys stop clubbing baby fur seals on the back of their heads.

thats ridiculous. why would they waste money on firemen school program? at college? I think 1 year should be enough.

sigh
